Slate is a stone, a natural material whose quality, durability and impurity content determine the durability and aesthetic appearance of a future slate roof or building facade. Slate comes in many different forms.
Slate is one of the world's oldest natural rocks, which is divided into thin layers (laminae). It is a relatively lightweight rock that is resistant to moisture and harsh climates, and is particularly suitable for roofing and cladding of buildings of all kinds. Slate tiles and roofing and facade cladding are considered to be among the strongest and most durable natural stone products.
Slate is characterised by its uneven, layered texture and earthy colours: black, grey, greenish and pink. The coating does not require special maintenance.
